On Thursday, the
House passed a 12-month "doc-fix" bill which included a delay of the
transition from International Classification of Disease, Ninth Revision (ICD-9)
to ICD-10 code sets until at least October 1, 2015. This
delay would include both hospitals and providers under the Medicare Program.
The Senate
will be voting on the “doc-fix” bill on Monday March 31 and if they also pass
the bill, it will become law, and will need to be signed by the president.
The Senate may still strip the ICD-10 provision and send the bill back to the House.
Further
communication will be forthcoming.
