Respiratory failure

Respiratory Failure is easy to document

Just like in ICD-9, it's very important to accurately document respiratory failure in ICD-10. The good news is that it's things that we already know that they are clinically relevant and think about today, with minor variations. What does this look like? see the attached documentation concept tip that has been developed and attached here. We need to specify if the respiratory failure is hypoxic or hypercapnic, acute or chronic, and if this is something following surgery, it's good to document if it's following a thoracic surgery or not.
